Laser Cavity Detection ~ KaVo’s DIAGNOdentUsing lasers tools such as KaVo’s DIAGNOdent to find very small areas of decay at the earliest stage allows us to treat small problems before they grow large. You keep more of your natural tooth. LAPT (Laser Assisted Periodontal Treatment with Biolase)Laser periodontal treatment has proven to be an exceptional alternative to traditional surgical treatments. The laser beam can be precisely directed to only the tissues needing treatment, and the way it works virtually eliminates bleeding and sterilizes the area at the same time. This translates to higher quality treatment, improved outcome, and greater comfort for you. Laser Cavity Removal with Waterlase®Waterlase® technology uses a unique combination of laser energy and water to gently and precisely remove dental decay with no shot, no drill, and no pain in most cases. Laser Bacteria ReductionWe can now use laser technology to reduce the anaerobic bacteria along the lining of the mouth and gums. Anaerobic bacteria can cause a number of problems, from bad breath to serious infections. Laser bacteria reduction can decrease bacteria from 10/9 t to 10/2 t for three or four weeks. We can remove the overgrowth of tissue on the teeth and improve the appearance of your smile using the laser for orthodontic hypoplastic tissue removal.
Dental Implants
When you’ve lost a permanent tooth or teeth, dental implants offer a solid, secure, and aesthetically pleasing alternative. An implant is special surgical grade titanium post that is inserted surgically into the jawbone below the gum surface. As the bone bonds to the post, it forms a secure foundation onto which your new teeth are then attached and shaped to match your mouth.
Dentures
Whole or partial dentures can replace missing teeth and help you keep your smile. Dentures allow you to eat a variety of nourishing foods, keeping you healthier. You’ll look younger, too, because dentures serve as support for your facial muscles and keep them from sagging.
Modern dental techniques such as implants and mini-implants have made it possible to make dentures more comfortable and to allow them to function more like your natural teeth than ever before. If you need dentures, make sure to ask us about all your options.
Tooth Colored Fillings
We use only bonded ceramic composite resins — tooth colored fillings —to fill holes in your teeth caused by decay. These resins look natural, and provide a much better service and protection for your teeth than old-fashioned silver fillings. Tooth-colored resins seal the teeth better, insulate against hot and cold better, and if they wear down they can be repaired easier.
Tooth-Colored Onlays and Inlays
Onlays are used for large restorations. They restore the area inside the cusp and extend over one or more sides of the tooth. Because of their size they are usually made of porcelain.
Inlays are used to restore the area of tooth inside the cusps. Inlays are a conservative tooth restoration, which means they require far less drilling and preparation of the tooth than a metal filling. Inlays are usually made of porcelain or composite resin, making them “invisible” in your smile.
Sealants
Dental sealants are a thin resin film that can be applied to the deep groves of the back teeth and molars. They offer a means of successfully protecting these chewing surfaces from decay.
The same advanced bonding techniques used for cosmetic dentistry are used to bond the sealants in the grooves to seal out bacteria. The entire procedure is not only painless, but fast, requiring between ten and forty-five minutes, depending on the number of teeth we're sealing. The cost of a sealant is much less than the cost of a filling, and it is an excellent investment to protect teeth from getting cavities at all.
Cosmetic Tooth Whitening
Tooth whitening is safe, effective and long lasting. We can whiten your teeth in our office or provide a custom home tooth whitening kit. Each has different advantages, and each addresses different situations. Talk to us about your concerns and what you want to achieve, and we’ll help you choose the best way of achieving a dazzling, whiter smile.
Crowns
A filling can restore a small defect in a tooth, but a crown
is the most long term, most durable, and strongest way to restore
a tooth with extensive damage. With today’s dental materials,
crowns can be totally natural looking, and no one will even know
that you have one!

We can sometimes use crowns to correct bite problems, close spaces between teeth, change the angles of teeth, and to replace missing teeth permanently as part of a bridge, or over an implant.
Fixed Bridges
If you are missing a tooth, a permanent bridge can often be made to replace it. It should look and feel natural, without hooks or clasps, and stay in permanently, allowing totally normal function. A fixed bridge will prevent the other teeth in your mouth from shifting, and help stabilize your bite.
Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers can be a great solution for people with chipped, stained, discolored, unevenly spaced, or even slightly crooked front teeth. Often, porcelain veneers can provide a completely improved and dazzling smile in just a few appointments.
Root Canals
A root canal treatment helps find and treat problems of a tooth’s soft core, the dental pulp. The pulp contains the nerves, blood vessels and connective tissues. If the pulp becomes diseased or injured—most often because of a cracked tooth or deep cavity—it can lead to an abscess, or infection of the pulp. Such infections can cause bone damage and ultimately the loss of a tooth.
Although many people think of root canals as extremely painful, the truth is that modern dental techniques have made this a much less difficult procedure. We refer our patients who need root canals to Dr. Joseph S. Dovgan , who is specially trained in the up-to-date root canal techniques.
Wisdom Teeth
Wisdom teeth, or third molars, can cause problems when there’s not enough room in you jaw for them to grow in properly. In this case, we recommend extraction. We refer patients in our office to Dr. Marvin Goldenstein for this procedure.
Orthodonture
While we don't perform orthodonture in office, we do have a solution for out patients that need their teeth straightened with braces. We refer patients in our office to Dr. James Jarman for their orthodontic needs. .
Sedation
Dentistry
Are you afraid of going to the dentist or of undergoing extensive dental treatment that you want and need? For our patients who need that extra help to relax, we offer oral sedation.
First, we review your medical history. If cleared by your MD, you are given a pill to take one hour prior to your dental appointment. You will need a companion to drive you to and from the dental office. The pill works quickly to create a relaxed state so you will be drowsy when you arrive. During treatment, your vital signs will be monitored while you are in a sleep-like state. You will be able to respond to any given commands or questions, but will not likely recall events while the drug is in effect. This is ideal for the dental phobic patient.
Some patients find they don’t need oral sedation but can feel comfortable during treatment with the use of nitrous oxide, or laughing gas.
If you’re afraid, please let us know! Our goal is to make you feel safe, secure and relaxed so that you can get the treatment you need.
Oral-B Electric Toothbrushes
We recommend Oral-B electric toothbrushes to our patients because we feel they do a better job than traditional toothbrushes of removing unhealthy plaque. Ask us for assistance in choosing the best model for you and your family.
Nightguards
If you grind your teeth at night you may experience jaw pain and headaches the next morning. You could even loosen and ultimately lose your teeth! To help prevent these problems, we can fit you with a nightguard, a small plastic device that protects your teeth while you sleep.
Digital
X-rays
Digital x-rays give us a fast and incredibly precise way of looking into your mouth. Digital x-ray technology speeds and simplifies the diagnostic part of your treatment, providing an image that is large, clear, and accurate.
Digital x-rays use 50-90% less radiation than old-fashioned x-rays and can be stored on our computer and reproduced for insurance purposes, referrals or patient education any number of times. In summary, digital x-rays are faster, cleaner, and allow us to provide better quality care.
Cosmetic Imaging
Cosmetic digital imaging can help you get a good idea of what your smile will look like after you’ve had cosmetic dental treatments. This technology allows us to create images of your mouth, as if the cosmetic procedures have been completed. We can then view these images together, and if necessary, modify the image until it shows us exactly what you want.
